1925 Scopes Monkey Trial, an unassuming high school teacher
finds himself at the center of a worldwide controversy.
On a scorching hot day in the small, Bible-belt
town of Hillsboro, biology teacher Bertram Cates stands accused.
His crime? Teaching Darwin’s theory of evolution to his
students.
A powerful confrontation is about the ensue
between characters based on William Jennings Bryan, who believes
only what he reads in the Bible, and Clarence Darrow, who
defends science and open intellectual inquiry..
This classic American drama is as timely today as
